The first worm, known as the “Morris Worm,” was created by a graduate student at Cornell University named Robert T. Morris. The Morris Worm was designed to exploit vulnerabilities in Unix systems, and ended up infecting over 6,000 computers.

Types of Malware

Types of malware can be classified into many different categories, but the three most common types are viruses, spyware, and ransomware. Each type of malware has its own unique purpose and can cause serious damage to your computer if not removed quickly.

Trojan Horse

Trojan Horse is a type of Malware that uses stealth to infect a computer system. It can remain undetected for long periods of time, and once it’s inside, it can do a lot of damage. Trojan Horses are often used to steal information or to take control of the system.

Remote Access

Remote access Trojans (RATs) are ones of the most common type of malware, that give an attacker control over a victim’s computer, often without the victim’s knowledge. RATs can be used to steal data, spy on the user, or even take full control of the system.

DDOS Attack

A DDOS attack type trojan is a malware that uses a Trojan horse to infect a computer and allow attackers to remotely control the system as part of a botnet. Botnets are networks of compromised systems used to launch Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, among other nefarious activities.

Malicious software can infect your computer in a number of ways, including through email attachments, infected websites, and even through legitimate-looking programs that are actually malware in disguise. Once your computer is infected, the malware can do anything from stealing your personal information to rendering your machine unusable.
